Dermoneuromodulation is an acronym meaning: Dermo (skin), Neuro (nervous system) and Modulation (change from one state to another). This technique, or rather this concept, is based on neuroscience principles applied to manual therapy. Its purpose is to make the nervous system relax and be less reactive. The use of touch activates the innervation of the skin to calm the nervous system and thus create a sense of relief or comfort for the client.

The therapist works with touch and skin to calm the nervous system. The techniques used are slow and gentle. It is a method that uses gentle touch to communicate with the nerves that run through the human body. A series of gentle skin stretches will be used during the treatment.
Contraindications for dermoneuromodulation are the same as for most techniques: fever, infection, wounds or skin problems and a history of heart disease.
