Insurances

The insurance business can seem complex since it is not our business. We have, therefore, decided to demystify the different types of insurance that you could subscribe to as therapists recognized by our association. The Réseau strongly encourages its members to enrol in professional insurance to cover their activities. As it is sometimes difficult to decide with, the Réseau has forged a partnership with two insurance companies in order to provide you with competitive prices.

Professional insurances

Professional liability insurance protects you against the financial consequences of your civil liability in case of error, wrongdoing, negligence or omissions committed while carrying out your professional activities. Although it is not mandatory, the Réseau strongly suggests that you enrol in such a policy regardless of where you work.

General civil liability insurance covers costs related to an accident in your workplace, such as a client falling on a staircase. It would also cover damages related to an accident such as a fire.

Professional property insurance covers damages related to your property pertaining to your professional activities (equipment and inventory) on your work premises, including property being transported, as well as direct damages: fire, lightning, wind, vandalism, theft (except theft of cash). Equipment and inventory include:

  • table, chair, computer, etc.
  • ointments, oils, balms, towels, etc.

Partnership

For your professional insurances, the Réseau offers you an exclusive partnership with the company ESSOR Assurances. You will find more information on the unique plan offered by Essor Assurances in your member space.

Disability insurance

Being self-employed often means finding yourself with no guaranteed income when you become ill or disabled and are unable to work. Disability insurance can guarantee you a source of income if a disability prevents you from working and supporting yourself.

Partnership

For disability insurance, the Réseau has created a partnership with Valérie Castonguay, Financial Security Advisor, Financière Horizons. Consult the information brochure in your member space for more information and contact Ms. Castonguay.
