The Réseau des massothérapeutes professionnels du Québec, emerging from an association which began their operations in 1976, united three professional associations in Quebec. The new entity united 4,300 massage therapists under the name l’Association professionnelle des massothérapeutes spécialisés du Québec, Mon Réseau Plus. In 2018, its name was shortened to Réseau des massothérapeutes professionnels du Québec, with the goal of clearing up some confusion regarding its lengthy name, and to strengthen the brand in order to make it clearer and more impactful overall.
The 2008 union represented a major turning point in the Association’s evolution and in massage therapy in Quebec. In addition to contributing to standardizing the practice of massage therapy and other physical approach practises, it allowed members of each association involved to benefit from a better representation among political bodies and healthcare representatives, and to benefit from personalized and high quality support, a major advertising program and a wider business network.
